Mission
The School exists to create, disseminate and apply engineering science through excellence in research and teaching, and to prepare graduates to take significant roles in their profession. At both graduate and undergraduate levels, we will strive to attract the best students available and offer them the best education possible.
Vision
Our vision of education goes beyond technical content to include an understanding of the economic, ethical and human contexts of our work. Because this understanding cannot be taught by formal instruction alone, we seek to achieve it through the cooperative involvement of all members of our community – faculty, staff and students – in the application of engineering to the betterment of our society.
